Empowering HIM Roles through a Global Voice!
On behalf of the Saudi Health Information Management Association (SHIMA), the Emirates Health Informatics Society (EHIS), and the Scientific Organizing Planning Committees, we invite you to participate in the 19Th IFHIMA Congress 17th – 21st of November 2019 in Dubai. The Congress will enable the global launch of an era in which the importance of consistent, trustworthy data and information are recognised as inherent to safe, quality care for individuals, and crucial to improving the health of populations.
Celebrating the 50th Jubilee of the IFHIMA in Dubai, one of the seven states that make up the United Arab Emirates, will be a unique opportunity to enjoy the wide range of experiences and opportunities that the region has to offer and visit a true multicultural city. 2017 Dubai census statistics[i] showed that nearly 90% of the estimated 3 million residents consisted of foreign born expatriate workforce and their families. The workforce is represented by over 200 nationalities. In 2018 UAE was ranked 20th in the world happiness rankings[ii] and came in second to Finland in the 2017 world’s safest countries[iii].
The Scientific and Organizing Committees have worked together to bring to you an event that offers meaningful and timely professional development in an effective sharing and learning layout. The Congress has been crafted specifically to help prepare health information professionals for the changing demands in healthcare delivery and leadership, as well as data and information capture, use, processing, sharing and reporting.
General Sessions and the concurrent tracks during the four-day Congress have been designed to ensure that broadly applicable topics and developments are provided to all participants.
General Sessions and concurrent tracks will utilize presentations and panels, as well as interactive approaches to enhance participant engagement in and benefit from the sessions.
Participants will benefit from the ability to interact with other attendees during break and meal times, and from the opportunity to visit with great companies and vendors of health information technologies and services in the exhibit area. There will also be opportunities to attend several social events and arranged group tours to experience as little or as much of Dubai as you desire.
The Congress will reflect many facets of healthcare including health information management, informatics, data analysis, clinical documentation improvement, coding, administration, policy making, insurance, direct patient care, and technology services. The attendees will have an opportunity to present, share and learn about global and regional challenges in health information, and solutions for addressing them.
The Congress brings together healthcare colleagues from the GCC, Asia, Middle East, Africa, India, Australia, the Americas, and Europe to collaborate, educate, inform, engage and interact. We believe the event will provide the best in diverse learning and networking opportunities.
We also encourage you to attend one of the pre-Congress educational trainings and certification preparation workshops on Saturday, 17th November. Topics and sessions will be available on the IFHIMA Congress website. www.ifhima2019.com
