Membership categories
Join your HIM colleagues as we share knowledge and best practices and strive to foster initiatives that can improve health around the world.
Individuals from any country can join us and get involved with our events, workgroups, and committees. Fees are just USD $35 for a year (January 1 – December 31), or USD $100 for a three-year membership.
Individual member privileges include:
- Serving on regional task groups, a unique personal and professional development opportunity.
- Discounted registration fees for IFHIMA Congresses.
- Networking informally with Health Information/Health Records Management professionals and experts around the world.
- Receiving regular copies of IFHIMA’s Global News, which provides worldwide updates on the HIM profession.
- Certificate of Associate Membership of IFHIMA is issued upon dues payment.
Corporate members help IFHIMA advance its mission, while providing advertising and promotional opportunities for your products or institution for two consecutive years (January 1 – December 31). The fee is USD $2500.
Benefits include:
- Ongoing 1/4 page ad within the IFHIMA Global News (eNewsletter), published 2-3 times a year, promoted on the IFHIMA website, and distributed to member nations, individual associate members, and Educational Institution members.
- Your logo on the Corporate Members page of the IFHIMA website with a link to your corporation’s website.
- Placement of one article per year in the IFHIMA Global News, subject to Editorial Guidelines and limitations.
- Preferred vendor rate for the IFHIMA Congress held within the membership term.
- Special recognition at the triennial Congress.
- Speaking slot at the triennial Congress.

Corporate and Educational Institution Membership Opportunity
IFHIMA partners with educational institutions around the world to promote education for HIM professionals. Membership can help you connect with your HIM colleagues while promoting your institution’s work. Educational Institution membership spans two years (January 1 – December 31) for a USD $1500 fee.
Benefits include:
- Ongoing ¼ page ad in the IFHIMA Global News (eNewsletter), published 2-3 times a year, promoted on the IFHIMA website, and distributed to member nations, individual associate members, and Educational Institution members.
- Your logo on the Educational Institution members page with a link to your institution’s website.
- Placement of one article per year in the IFHIMA Global News, subject to Editorial Guidelines and limitations.
- Preferred vendor rate for the IFHIMA Congress held within the membership term.
- Special recognition at the triennial Congress.
- Speaking slot at the triennial Congress.
- Copy of attendee list from the triennial Congress (limitations apply).
- Certificate of Educational Institution Membership of IFHIMA issued upon dues payment.

See current educational institution members.
National Membership is reserved for one national organization in each country. This organization should be representative of the national activities within the field of health records/information (Article III, Sections 2 & 6 of the IFHIMA constitution). The purposes of the organization must be compatible with those of IFHIMA. Only national members are entitled to hold office or vote at the IFHIMA congress. Fees depend on the number of members in your national association.
Privileges of an IFHIMA national member:
- Nominating a representative from their nation to serve on the IFHIMA Board as the Regional Director for their WHO region.
- Sending a representative (National IFHIMA Director/Deputy Director or a nominated member of the national association) to the IFHIMA General Assembly.
- Having one vote as the national member at the General Assembly.
- Opportunities to organize conferences in collaboration with IFHIMA.
- Certificate of National Membership of IFHIMA is issued on payment of annual member dues.

Regional Island Network Membership is reserved for close geographical clusters of similar small islands, with each island having less than or equal to three HIM practitioners, which are representative of activities within the field of HIM. Those applying under this category must meet the same criteria as that for a National Member, as per IFHIMA constitutional guidelines “Guidelines for Establishing a New National Association”.
Each Regional Island Network holds the same rights and privileges as National Members, and will be entitled to vote on all Federation issues, during the IFHIMA General Assembly.
