Kathy Giannangelo, MA, RHIA, CCS, FAHIMA

Kathy Giannangelo has a comprehensive background in the field of clinical terminologies, classification, and data standards with more than forty years of experience in the health information field. Her work includes clinical terminology feasibility assessments, adoption methodology appraisals, and implementation support. Additional services offered are clinical terminologies and classifications education and training. Ms. Giannangelo serves as editor of AHIMA’s Healthcare Code Sets, Clinical Terminologies, and Classifications textbook. She has also authored numerous articles and has presented worldwide. Some of her ICD-11 work includes co-presenter at AMIA and AHIMA conferences, and author of AHIMA’s on-demand webinar series “The Evolution of ICD-11” and three-module course “Introduction to ICD-11 Coding” for AHIMA. She is the conveyor for the IFHIMA ICD-11 Communality of Practice. Ms. Giannangelo also serves as IFHIMA’s representative on the WHO-FIC’s Informatics and Terminology Committee and the Family Development Committee.
Miroslav Zvolsky, M.D.

As the head of the National Centre for Healthcare Electronicisation at the Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic (IHIS), Miroslav Zvolský focuses mainly on interoperability standards for health information. He leads the National Centre for Medical Nomenclatures and Classifications, which manages, for example, the Czech versions of the International Classification of Diseases or the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health. He is the head of the World Health Organization’s Czech Collaborating Centre for the International Classification Family and a member of several methodological working groups at the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.
Dr Islam Ibrahim, M.D., PhD

Islam Ibrahim leads the morbidity data team at the National Center for Health Information in the Ministry of Health, Kuwait. The center is also a WHO Family of International Classification (WHO-FIC) Collaborating Center. Prior to joining the Kuwait Center, Islam was an assistant professor of Medical Statistics. She worked in managing health data – teaching and practicing for over 20 years with a special interest in health classifications, quality of clinical documentation, medical coding and healthcare quality. As a subject matter expert, Islam contributes to the development of the innovative WHO Academy learning programme for ICD-11. She is a member of the Morbidity Reference Group, the Education and Implementation Committee, and the Classification and Statistics Advisory Committee of the WHO-FIC Network.
Dr Meng Zhang

Dr. Meng ZHANG is a researcher in health information management at the Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and the ICD-11 program lead at the Collaborating Centre for the World Health Organization Family of International Classifications in China. With over a decade of expertise in the preparation for the ICD-11 implementation, Dr. Zhang and her team has successfully conducted a national ICD-11 pilot study and developed ICD-11 training programs across China. She served as the co-chair of the Classification and Statistics Advisory Committee of the WHO-FIC Network, where she played a key role in coordinating the proposal review and discussion for the ongoing maintenance and updates of ICD-11.

Michelle Badore is the Manager of international content development at Solventum Health Information Systems (HIS). She leads a team focused on clinical development of international coding and regulatory standards, and the Social Determinants of Health program. She currently serves on the ICD-11 leadership team for the International Federation of Health Information Management Associations’ Community of Practice and the global interdisciplinary ICD-11 steering committee for Solventum HIS. Michelle has over 20 years of healthcare technology experience in various inpatient and outpatient settings and is a former CIO of a large outpatient healthcare organization.
Sharon Baker, BTEC, CTSS
Manager, Classifications and Terminologies – Development, Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI)
Sharon serves as the Manager, Classifications and Terminologies—Development with the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), where she is responsible for the development of strategic and operational plans for the advancement of clinical data standards within the digital healthcare environment. A key focus of her work involves assessing the implementation of ICD-11 for health system use in Canada. She also spearheads efforts to map clinical terminologies to classifications, facilitating better integration and interoperability across diverse healthcare systems. Sharon is an active member of the WHO-FIC. She has served two terms as Co-Chair of the Education and Implementation Committee and is currently the Co-Chair of the Mapping Task Force.

Michelle Badore is the manager of international content development for the Health Information Systems business at Solventum. She leads clinical development of international coding and regulatory standards, and the SDoH program. She currently serves on the leadership team for IFHIMA’s ICD-11 CoP and Solventum’s ICD-11 Steering Committee. Michelle has more than 20 years of healthcare technology experience in various inpatient and outpatient settings, multiple certifications, and is a former CIO of a large healthcare system.
Vicki Bennett, CHIM, FAIDH, CHIA

Vicki is the Head of the Metadata, Information Management and Classifications Unit at the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, where she has held a number of different roles over the past 15 years. She is on the Board of the Health Information Management Association of Australia. Vicki has as had a diverse career both domestically and internationally. She has worked extensively across the Pacific over the past 20 years and has been appointed as an Advisor to the Pacific Health Information Network Board. She has also lectured at a range of Australian universities and is passionate about ensuring that good health information is used to improve health outcomes for all.
Ahmed Alsatian

Ahmed Alhatlan is also the co-founder and vice-president of the Saudi Health Information Management Association(SHIMA), and also the Deputy Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa at the International Federation of Health Information Association (IFHIMA).
Ahmed holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management and a Master’s degree in Health Services Management from Curtin University in Australia. In addition to many international professional accreditations such as Certified Strategy Development Professional (CSP), Certified Professional in Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRCP), Certified Health Information Manager (CHIM), Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS), and Certified professional in Patient Experience (CPEx).
Ahmed has 20 years of experience in health information management, casemix, classification systems, hospital management, data privacy, clinical documentation improvement, change management, policy, health quality, in addition to developing and evaluating strategies. He worked in many governmental and private health sectors.
Ahmed participates in many national and international professional and scientific committees and has discussed many scientific theses in several international conferences. He also contributed to the publication of many research papers in a number of refereed scientific journals related to health information.
