Governance & Leadership of IFHIMA
The IFHIMA Executive Board is the governing body of the federation, which is made up of eight (8) elected officers, i.e. the president, the president-elect and six (6) regional IFHIMA directors representing the six IFHIMA regions which are coterminous with the six WHO regions: Africa, the Americas, The Eastern Mediterranean and North Africa, Europe, South East Asia and the Western Pacific. The immediate past president will serve on the executive board in an ex-officio capacity for at least one year. An ex-officio board member, membership chair, will be appointed by the President at the beginning of each term of office, and will serve the same term as the President. The executive board meets face-to-face annually and works by means of e-mail and quarterly conference calls in between meetings. The executive board reports to the General Assembly, which meets at the time of the international Congress every three years.
